Meanwhile, more contemporary architecture in the city blends old (i.e. Renaissance) and new styles (i.e. Art Nouveau). The city also boasts of roughly 100 museums, which millions of people visit annually. The most famous one is the National Museum, which contains numerous art handicrafts and paintings. Stockholm also contains several world-class art centers and art galleries.

There's also the Modern Theatre of Dance, the Stockholm City Theatre, and the Peoples Opera.
If you wish to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere in Stockholm, then you have several options. There's the popular Grona Lund amusement park, which contains numerous attractions and restaurants. Ice hockey and soccer are the most popular spectator sports in Sweden, and you can easily enjoy them throughout Sweden's capital city.
Regardless of which time of the year you visit Sweden's capital, you'll be able to enjoy a cornucopia of sites and events. The city also boasts of several annual events, which you can attend between your nights at a Bed and Breakfast (B&B). During the last week of July there's the Stockholm Pride event, which ends with a huge parade (about half a million watched in 2007). If you're a lover of music, then you could attend the two-day "Where the Action Is Tour"-a two-day music festival that takes place in June.
There's also the July Stockholm Jazz Festival, which is one of the city's oldest ones. And if exercise is your forte, there's also the Stockholm Marathon, which annually occurs in June.
When you need to travel from your B&B to various locations and events throughout Stockholm, take public transportation. It includes an extensive network that's one of the most expensive ones in the entire world! It includes the Stockholm Metro, various rail systems, several bus lines, and even an inner-city boat line.
